Students & Volunteers

Due to the continued increase in COVID -19 cases in Dane County, we are limiting the number of people in our clinic spaces and because of this, we have made the difficult decision to put our volunteer opportunities on hold. With things continually changing, we are hoping that our volunteer opportunities will be something we can offer again in a future season!

Professional Students

The CI team is eager to share our knowledge with future therapy professionals.  We seek to offer professional students opportunities for hands-on fun and transdisciplinary learning in a supportive environment.

If you would like to complete your professional school internship at CI (OTS/OTAS, PTS/PTAS, Speech-Language Pathology Students), please direct your institution’s Academic Fieldwork Coordinator to contact our Student Coordinator, Laura Nagel (laura@citherapies.com).  Students are required to complete an interview and training prior to beginning their placement.

Volunteer Positions at CI

The impactful work we do every day at CI is supported by a group of talented and hard-working volunteers. They help stock supplies, clean therapy spaces, prep for sessions and make our CI kiddos smile extra BIG! They are a special part of our team because they help our children be the best that they can be. We have been lucky to welcome such an incredible group of undergraduate students, who are studying to become therapists, educators, social workers, or medical professionals, as a part of our volunteer team. Our semester-long volunteer commitments can be just a couple of hours per week! If you would like to apply to become a volunteer at CI, click here for the online application link.

If you are an undergraduate student, or an individual interested in job shadowing opportunities, we encourage you to apply for a semester-long volunteer commitment through our volunteer program. Many of our clients benefit from consistency and familiar faces, and we have found this to be the most mutually beneficial arrangement. For this reason, CI is unable to accommodate single day or short term job shadowing requests.

Our top priority is to provide our clients and families with the highest level of care as possible.  Volunteers will first and foremost be placed with our team members and clients based on scheduling and the clinical need for session or group support.  While volunteer preferences for time spent with a specific type of therapy professional will be honored whenever possible, opportunities may or may not be aligned with the therapy discipline with which you are seeking shadowing experience.
