Brigitte Waldier

Brigitte lived in China for a summer. Strawberries are her absolute favorite food. She used to receive speech therapy!

Brigitte earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and her master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Iowa. During this time, she also received her certificate in American Sign Language and completed a thesis on pediatric word learning and memory. Brigitte had an internship at the pediatric unit at Madonna Rehabilitation hospital working with children 0-19 recovering from brain and spinal cord injury. She recently finished a rotation at the University of Chicago’s Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics providing therapy to children with complex medical needs. She has additional experience working in the special education setting, Birth to Three, hearing-loss, and adoption clinics. Brigitte adores working and learning from children! She is especially passionate about social language, early communication skills, and AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication). She is so excited to meet with families and be a part of the CI team!
