Brigitte Waldier

Brigitte lived in China for a summer, strawberries are her absolute favorite food, and she once received speech therapy!

Brigitte earned her Bachelors degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and her Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Iowa. During this time, she also received her certificate in American Sign Language and completed a thesis on pediatric word learning and memory. Brigitte completed an internship at the pediatric unit at Madonna Rehabilitation hospital working with children 0-19 recovering from brain and spinal cord injury. She recently finished a rotation at the University of Chicago’s Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics providing therapy to children with complex medical needs. She has additional experience working in the special education setting, birth-three, hearing-loss, and adoption clinics.

Brigitte adores working and learning from children! She is especially passionate about social language, early communication skills, and AAC (alternative and augmentative communication). She is so excited to meet with the families and be part of the CI team!
