Heidi Splinter

Heidi’s favorite food is ice cream, she has never been out of the country, but would love to visit England or Australia one day. When she started running, she began running her races in a backwards fashion. She first completed a half marathon, followed by a full marathon, then a 10K and after multiple halfs and full marathons she finally ran a 5K.

Heidi graduated from the Occupational Therapy Assistant program Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Prior to obtaining her degree from Kirkwood she graduated from Wright State University with her Bachelors in Sport Science. In between graduating from Wright State and going to Kirkwood Heidi spent a year working at a local elementary school. Heidi’s desire to get into the occupational therapy field stemmed from going to work with her mom when she was younger and spending time with the kids in her special education class. Heidi’s passion to help those with disabilities is evident as she has worked with kids with; autism, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and developmental delays. In Heidi’s free time you can find her running, working out, playing volleyball , and hanging out with family and friends.
