John Newlon

John loves playing guitar and piano. He used to work on a horse farm. He is an amateur juggler!

John earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from Indiana University and a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from UW-Madison. He is passionate about sensory integration and emotional regulation, and he believes that how our minds and bodies feel drives how we interact with the world. John emphasizes child-led activities in his treatment using the Floortime approach; he is always eager to help kids grow to be independent and confident. John loves getting to know parents and families, problem-solving with them to help their child succeed and connect with others. John grew up helping with his youngest sister’s OT and speech therapy, previously worked for a special recreation summer camp, and was a paraprofessional for a special education program. John is an avid fan of music and sci-fi/fantasy everything, enjoys hiking and camping with his wife and their two dogs, and is a lifelong Chicago sports fan. John is beyond excited to be a part of the CI team!
