Maria earned her bachelor of science in communication sciences and disorders from Grand Valley State University (Grand Rapids, MI), and her master of arts in speech-language pathology from Wayne State University (Detroit, MI). Prior to working at CI, Maria worked as a school-based speech therapist in Metro Detroit, MI. During her time in the schools, she worked with elementary and middle school students with a variety of expressive, receptive, pragmatic, articulation and fluency disorders. Before moving to Madison, Maria also previously worked for a private pediatric practice where she uncovered her passion for working with children and their families in the outpatient setting. This passion led her to CI, where she is excited to continue parent-coaching and individualized intervention. Want your child to be able to say the name of your dog or request what they want for breakfast? Maria is up for any challenge! She is all about making speech therapy fun and functional and loves to celebrate every goal achieved. In her free time, Maria enjoys watching sports, going to local coffee shops, traveling, hiking, and exploring the beautiful city of Madison!
