Marie Harper

Marie’s favorite food is guacamole. Her favorite trip was to Tanzania. She can’t live without her Starbucks coffee!

Marie received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While a student at the UW, Marie worked as a line therapist for Integrated Development Services and as a personal care worker through Community Living Alliance. She also gained clinical experience working primarily with children in both medical and school settings. Her clinical experiences included outpatient pediatric speech/language therapy at UW Health’s Middleton Rehabilitation Clinic and student teaching at Verona Area School District-Early Childhood. Through her work experiences, Marie has provided therapy and in-home personal care to children on the autism spectrum as well as to those with other developmental disabilities. She has a great deal of experience working with young children with articulation and language disorders as well as children who use AAC devices. Since joining the CI team, Marie has been trained in the Get Permission Approach to feeding and has worked to help create a variety of groups at CI, especially with preschool-aged children. In her spare time, Marie loves to spend time with her family and friends, dance and practice yoga, and cheer on the Badgers!
