Rachel earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology from the University of Iowa. She completed internships at an autism diagnostic clinic, several private practice settings, and in the NICU and PICU at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. During graduate school, she also worked as a research assistant conducting process improvement time studies in the Department of Otolaryngology. Rachel enjoys working with all children, but has a particular interest in social language, early communication skills, and AAC (alternative and augmentative communication). She loves coming to work every day because the kids are so joyful, honest, and clever, and they have a unique and fun way of seeing the world. In her time off, Rachel loves traveling to new places, trying new foods, spending time with friends & family, and reading books. Rachel feels very fortunate and excited to be joining the CI team!
